Safety First !

Why is Safety important

Keeping schools safe allows children to look forward to being in an encouraging environment that promotes social and creative learning. When their basic safety needs aren’t met, children are at risk for not feeling comfortable at school and may stop showing up, or they may remain on edge throughout the day. Promoting school safety creates an open space for kids to explore, learn and grow.

three steps to safety

We take care of safety Every Step Of The Way

A safe learning environment is essential for students of all ages. Without it, they are unable to focus on learning the skills needed for a successful education and future. Here are our 3 steps to safety.

01

Frame Safety Guidelines

02

Implement Safety Measures

03

Adhere to it diligently

Safety Guidelines

Each student is expected to adhere to these guidelines.

Members of the school community should endeavour to walk rather than run while using the stairways, corridors and classrooms. Whatever you are rushing for should not cause you or others some injury. In the process of running, you may fall, collide with someone else or get yourself or someone else injured.

There may be this tendency to push or shove aside someone walking slowly before you. Be careful not to do so. The other person may lose balance when you push them and get injured. Such an act may even lead to a fight between you two. If you have to move slowly, be careful not to impede other people’s movement when doing so.

Students and staff should be encouraged to preferably keep to the left while walking on the corridors or stairways within the school building structure. By walking on the left, the individual is able avoid possible head on collision with others coming from the opposite direction.

The stairways shouldn’t be turned into playing grounds where people jump. A student fond of jumping the stairs should be warned against such in order to prevent accidents. They may possibly slip in the process and have some accident.

Certain locations within the school may be meant for authorized personnel only. Perhaps, there is an alternative electricity facility or heavy equipment vault within the school premises. No student or teacher should be found in such places.

FLOOR SUPERVISORS

Supervisors are stationed on each floor to monitor movement of students and other staff in corridors, washrooms , classrooms and every room of that floor. This completely eliminates any possibility of any untoward incident.

Touch Awareness Workshop

It’s extremely important to teach young children about “Good Touch Bad Touch” to help prevent child molestation. Most of the time, targets are very young children, below 12 years of age. They are too young to understand the difference between right and wrong.

Good Touch – Bad Touch

Workshop to make students aware of what is considered a good touch and what is considered a bad or improper touch when someone touches them, is conducted twice a year in SVPV. So that small kids and girl students can speak up and report it to mother or a teacher as soon as she identifies a bad touch. Its conducted in Grade 1 to 6.
